2015 London Marathon

Hillingdon Samaritans lend support at the Marathon.

The 2015 London Marathon saw eighty Team Samaritans runners, all complete the gruelling 26  mile challenge. Between them managing to raise over £110,000. The weather may not have been ideal but the crowds and supporters helped to spur our runners on to the end.

Throughout the course Samaritans volunteers were present at ‘Cheering Points’ to give encouragement, and when our runners reached the final stage at The Playhouse Theatre they were met by a team of Samaritans volunteers. While Hillingdon Samaritans were not lucky – or crazy depending on your point of view – enough to be able to participate this year, we did manage to send one of our volunteers along as part of the support team. Returning with a glowing report of a fantastic time had by all involved and highly recommending that more get involved next year

Massive congratulations to all those who braved the course and a big thank you to the support team!!!
